Post Conference ICM2024 Option Six
There are currently 12 habituated gorilla families that can be visited. In order to minimize behavioral disturbances to the gorillas, only 8 trekkers are allowed to visit each of the families for a period not exceeding 1 hour. This means that only 96 trekkers are allowed in the park daily. The limits serve to protect gorillas from the risk of exposure to human-borne diseases.

Activities
Day 1
-Fly to Kigali (flight cost not Included). On arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be welcomed by member of BEEA, who will transfer you to the Hotel and assist you at check in. The rest of your day will be spent at Leisure. Lunch and Dinner will be on own arrangement.

Day 2
-After breakfast you will embark on the Tour of the City of Kigali and the Genocide Memorial museum, followed by Lunch at a Kigali Hotel. After Lunch you will depart on a scenic drive to the Volcanoes National park. The journey north passes through the beautiful terraced hillsides that characterize much of Rwanda’s landscape and gradually climbs to the base of the Virunga Volcanoes, sometimes with as many as five peaks visible. Day 3
-Today you will have the rare opportunity to observe the famous Rwandan mountain gorillas (subject to gorilla permits being available). Tracking the gorillas through the forested slopes of the Virungas is a magical experience. Some gorilla families, however, are more elusive, and tracking can take a full day, especially when it is wet and muddy. Return to the Lodge for Lunch, followed by an afternoon visit to the Ellen DeGeneres Campus for Diane Fossey Gorilla Fund, nestled in a beautiful, reforested landscape near the Volcanoes National Park. Experience the many immersive activities in the public exhibit, including a 360-degree theater and replica of Dian Fossey’s original cabin—and learn about the region’s biodiversity on our nature trails.

Day 4
-Depart from foothills of the Virunga Volcanoes, driving South past coffee, tea and banana plantations on a breathtaking scenic drive back to Kigali. On arrival in Kigali you will be transferred to designated hotel where you will be staying in the time of the event.

- Booking Cancelled 60 to 32 Days, 50% of total invoice
- Bookings canceled 31 days or less before arrival will incur a cancellation fee of 100% of total invoice
